As a psychodynamic counsellor I undertake individual work. I am available for psychotherapeutic consultation with adults and couples where it concerns a child or family member, or where the adults wish to explore and reflect on their own experiences as parents or carers. Sensitivity to and respect for the range and diversity of modern families guide how I work with each individual, couple, parent or carer.
I have a dual qualification in specialist addiction and substance abuse work with adolescents and with adults. I offer psychodynamic sessions to young people and adults in recovery from a range of addictions. I have experience working with young people and adults both in residential rehabilitation settings and in the transition to home/community.
In this area of work I have particular training and expertise working with those who follow Twelve step programmes.
As a consultant I am available to a range of primary and secondary schools, working with SEN teams and on specialist initiatives to meet complex needs within school settings.
I provide consultation to a range of agencies in the network of care for looked after children.
I am a trained psychodynamic supervisor and offer supervision to psychodynamic practitioners and trainees in psychodynamic counselling.
I offer individual and group supervision to colleagues working therapeutically in health services and in allied professions, including educational staff, social workers, residential staff and therapeutic support workers.
